The Turning Point Program provides at risk youth one last opportunity to remain in their community and avoid the need for detention. The students are 14 to 17 years of age, have been adjudicated, and are temporary wards of the court. The Turning Point Program operates year round and enables each student to continue with their education, participate in counseling, and enter the world of employment. The program provides an environment for the students to reflect on past decisions and the effect on their lives. The students are provided an opportunity with guidance to make better choices to meet the responsibilities towards themselves, their family, and their community. Successful students are able to transition to their regular school and can be released from probation.
