SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT

Do you have a need for small part assembly, packaging, sorting, courier/delivery routes, document shredding, laundry services, recycling collection, and cardboard compacting?

NEMROC has been providing Supported Employment services to Alpena and the surrounding areas for over 20 years. The goal of Supported Employment is to have individuals find and maintain employment in their community. All program activities are individualized to the abilities and needs of the individuals served. Supports offered in the program include job development, long term job coaching, and assistance with transportation.

Supported Employment benefits to you & your business

  • Quality Work Force
  • Supervision on the worksite at no cost to you
  • Workers are pre-screened and matched to your job needs
  • Flexible scheduling
  • On-going job training and follow up support
  • Low absenteeism
  • People with disabilities typically are not "job hoppers". They reward their employers with loyalty and diligence.

How do our Supported Employment services work?
We have three basic ways:

  1. Individual Placement- The hiring of one person.
  2. Enclave- The hiring of a group. This group works only at one business.
  3. Mobile Work Crews- This group is mobile, they work for more than one business; their schedule is usually irregular.

With any of these choices available supervisory personnel will be provided at no charge to the employer.

The supervisor/job coach will receive the training necessary to perform the job in order to teach the individual or individuals. Their duties also include supervision, support, and assistance to ensure the job goals, job etiquette and production requirements set by the employer are met.
